Update: On Monday, June 28, 2010, I found out that my submission for the Six Sentences contest "The Mysterious Dr. Ramsey" has been accepted and is being published. Update: On Sunday, June 13, 2010. I've been slacking of late. I haven't been writing or submitting much of anything. Time to get back into the swing of things.
Update: On Monday, June 2, 2010, my short story Woman Called Witch was published in the June 2010 issue of Niteblade Fantasy and Horror Magazine.
Update: On Monday, May 24, 2010, my short story My Symantha was published by the The Dunesteef Audio Fiction Magazine.

Update: On Tuesday, March 30, 2010, I found out that my short story Phlebotomists Anonymous will published in Issue 47 of Dark Fire Fiction. Issue 47 will be published in September 2010.
Update: On Sunday, March 14, 2010, I found out that my six sentence submissions "Growing Pains" had been accepted in Six Sentences — Volume 3. That is great news and I'm looking forward to the book publication in April 2010! My selection was announced on Sunday, March 14, 2010 on a video announcing a partial list of authors selected for Six Sentences - Volume 3. My name shows up at 4:45 into the video! Welcome to my web site! My name is Doug McIntire, a central Texas author living in the Austin area.
I use this web site to promote my writing, which I've been doing off and on for most of my adult life. I started in about 1989, my early writing consisting of poetry and short stories. In November 2006, I began writing novels, using the National Novel Writing Month (you can find out more about NaNoWriMo by going to the Writer's Resources page) as a catalyst.
Since I've started writing novels, I've completed six of them. Two of my novels, A New Witch and The Life of Larry, have been edited and I'm shopping them around for an agent and to get published.
The other four novels are still in first draft, ready to start editing. The problem is that I like to write more than I like to edit, so I'm apt to go on with the next writing project before I edit these. I also have several ideas for other novels and short stories that are in the works. Stay tuned to see what my next project is going to be.
